Samsungs Galaxy S8 and S8+ have both been available from US carriers since last month, as you may know. However, if youve been waiting to get your hands on an unlocked unit, youve had no luck so far. That is about to change, though.
Today the unlocked versions of the two flagship devices have finally gone up for pre-order in the US, both at Samsungs own online store as well as Best Buy. The unlocked models will become available on May 31, online and in Best Buy stores.
If youre interested in the smaller S8, know that youll have to part with $724.99 in order to get the unlocked version. On the other hand, the larger S8+ has been priced at $824.99. You can also choose Samsungs two-year financing, in which case youll pay $30.21 per month for the S8, or $34.38 per month for the S8+.
Hopefully Samsungs software support for these will not be as appalling as for their predecessors, the S7 a nd S7 edge, which only this month got updated to Android 7.0 Nougat - a lot later than the carrier-specific versions.
